(More customer reviews)Product was fine. Clear plastic of decent thickness. The twist to unlock hatches on each end were very hard to turn at first, needed to be sanded down and then it worked fine. However I got this for my rats, as their is a picture of a rat on the box. Problem is rats don't really see that well and mostly navigate with their wiskers, so put them in a ball and they really don't know where they are or where they are going whether it is a clear ball or pitch black. With all three of my rats they just bump into things for a few minutes and then just sit in a corner.

(More customer reviews)I've owned and raised rats for over 15 years and in my opinion this is the best carrier on the market for rat use. It has a good strong plastic base and heavy powder coating that really last, unlike 'critter keeper' style carriers that break easily or fabric carriers that rats can easily chew out of. The top pops off the base easily for cleaning, but it is sturdy enough that you don't need to worry about your critters escaping and it will last for years of use. It will also double very well when you need a hospital cage for a sick rat.
