(More customer reviews)My cats love this. I bought a double version of this (see below) originally to put in the back seat of a car when traveling with my cats. My cats love them so much that they nap in it every day and play on/around it as well as i left it out in the living room. This is their first choice to retire to after they exhaust themselves from play every day.
The shelter has a sturdy body when open and yet collapsable when needed. It has zippered front doors and side doors. There are clips mid-way such that one can secure a hammock hanging half way for a higher view (for a cat, for example). The two compartments can be separated with a zippered center divider or unzipped for more room. The floor pads are very comfortable. The meshes are sturdy but allow vision and ample breathing for my cats. The product has side pockets for carrying water, snacks, etc. It's very light weight and easily transportable and cleansed with water and soap.
If you have more than 1 pet, you might consider buying a double instead. See product here:

SturdiBag Pet Carrier, Small - Smoke Review

The way it takes the shape of the bottom of the seat makes this the obvious choice for the avid traveler, not to mention, it also looks great.

(More customer reviews)We got this carrier for our newly adopted 9 lb. cat, Ella. She HIGHLY disliked traveling when we got her, and getting her into the carrier was an exercise in will and ferocity. (Because we are suckers and first-time pet parents, she won the first time--we did postpone her initial vet check-up!!) However, all it took was some treats and firmness and one vet visit (after which she was HAPPY to return to her carrier to get out of the office) to completely change her mind. When we got home, she started taking naps in her carrier and playing in it, jumping out of it to surprise her brother, etc. Now, she has even gone with us on walks around the neighborhood, and likes peering out through the screened side at the world. (I think this is a real advantage of this bag--she feels very secure but can position herself so that she can easily see what is going on.) And from my perspective, it's as easy to carry as a purse, right over my shoulder. And, if I'm worried about her, I don't have to open up the bag at all and risk her jumping out. I can get in close to the mesh and look through and make sure she's all right.
In terms of durability, the metal-type mesh on the inside has "bent" in a few places from her scratching, but it hasn't torn at all. The double layer of mesh is really durable, and still attractive. All in all, it's a great carrier for her. We haven't flown with her, but if we had to, I'm confident it would do the job well.
One thing to be aware of--it IS too small for our 13.5 lb. big boy of a cat. (And he's even a little underweight--believe it or not.) He wishes that he could fit in it--he loves the thing--but he doesn't really have enough room to turn around in it. It just isn't the right size carrier for a larger cat.
