SMALL - RED - Outward Hound Quick-Release Dog Backpack Review

SMALL - RED - Outward Hound Quick-Release Dog Backpack

I bought this item to help my hyper/fearful beagle on walks and it works! She carries our kids water and hers and is usually ready to go home after about 20 minutes from exhaustion! We noticed that it also helps her to stay focused on the walk. She no longer pulls (the hyper side of her) and because she is so exhausted and drained from the walk, she has less room to be fearful over things. Yes, she is still fearful and may always be, but this has helped a lot!

SMALL - RED CAMO - Excursion Dog Backpack Review

SMALL - RED CAMO - Excursion Dog Backpack

I selected to buy this item when it was $11 and I got a notice saying it was no longer available and unable to ship so my order was cancelled. Just to find it on Amazon again for $17. So they cancelled my order just to re-offer the product for more money. I refuse to buy anything from this company. Any company that would do this to customers doesn't deserve my business.
Maybe you should treat your customers better

The sizing is definitely off on this product. My dog is 40lbs and I had to get him a size small (for dogs up to 18lbs.). But other than that, the backpack is great. Nice padded straps. Nice inside pockets. Would recommend this.

I got this product to help exercise my boston terrier/jack russel terrier mix's. You can fit a couple water bottles in each pocket and walk your dogs till they tire out. The only thing is that the smallest size, is still a slight bit big on my 18lb dog. It fits better on my 21lb dog.

Outward Hound Excursion Dog Backpack (Colors Vary) Review

Outward Hound Excursion Dog Backpack (Colors Vary)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We purchased a large for our Akita with hopes of using up some of his energy. We loaded it up with a few water bottles and a collapsible bowl for every walk. It did the job, but only for a couple of months. Then, it started to fall apart at the seams, literally. The material and stitching is just not tough enough to stand up to regular use. I hand-stitched it back together, but we finally decided to upgrade to a Kelty Chuckwagon pack. Another downfall is that the Outward Hound pack places the weight further back on the back of the dog which is not healthy for their spine in the long run. It also hangs rather low down the sides, which is a problem if you have a male dog like ours who hikes his leg when he does his business. Not pretty. We had to wash it pretty frequently, which probably contributed to its early demise. If you're looking for a pack that will last awhile, I'd recommend that you skip the Outward Hound brand and spend a few extra bucks on a higher quality pack.

Kyjen Outward Hound Designer II No Spill Bowl Review

Kyjen Outward Hound Designer II No Spill Bowl
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This no spill bowl works great! I couldn't find one with strings in the local pet stores, and it is the strings that make all the difference. Without them you just have to dump out the water in the bowl that your dog doesn't drink. This way you can keep the excess water in there and not have to waste a bunch. My puppy was afraid of drinking out of it at first...but she finally got the hang of it.

Kyjen Outward Hound Designer II Port-A-Bowl, 48-Ounce Review

Kyjen Outward Hound Designer II Port-A-Bowl, 48-Ounce
Average Reviews:

My wife walks our 4 dogs daily and usually takes a bottle of water and one of these with her. After letting them drink, she wrings it out and hooks it back on the water pouch. I admit that maybe the company didn't intend for them to be twisted and squeezed in this manner, but either way, it has started to leak after about a year. Obviously, we like the product though, because we have ordered another one just like it. This is definitely the best solution on the market for mobile-watering.

Doggles Dog Backpack Review

Doggles Dog Backpack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Doggles makes two different backpacks--Standard and Extreme. BOTH STYLES OF BACKPACK ARE SOLD ON THIS SAME PAGE--clearly an error on Amazon's part. The red is Standard. The blue is Extreme. The grey pack shown is the Extreme; however, Doggles also sells the Standard in grey (and it sounds like that's what a previous reviewer received). I would be cautious about ordering the grey because you may not get the pack you're expecting. It appears that all of the previous reviews are for the Standard pack. My review is for the BLUE Doggles EXTREME OUTDOOR GEAR EX PACK.
My puppy is currently 17 pounds with 12" neck and 19" girth. I bought the pack in size XS. It fits great with lots of room to grow. There are photos of Barney wearing the pack in the customer photos. I bought this pack just to give my dog a little extra workout on walks and hikes. He is very high energy, so it takes a lot to wear him out. Given that I bought an XS, I wasn't expecting Barney to help carry much gear on hikes, but I was very surprised at how much can fit in the bags. For size reference, I can easily fit 4 tennis balls in each side of the XS size pack (5 fit, but not comfortably).
The Extreme pack is an excellent quality product. It is made from durable rip-stop nylon, all seams are reinforced and covered, and the pack is full of great features. There is padding in the back and under both buckles. A mesh fabric lining and an opening in the back under the handle are great for breathability and ventilation. The zippers are water resistant--a feature I don't need and it makes them a little tougher to open and close, but they are durable and usable. The assist handle, metal leash ring, straps, and buckles are all very strong. All of the trim on the sides and back are light reflective for night visibility. And the biggest plus is that the Doggles pack comes in smaller sizes than most packs--small dogs need backpacks, too! I can't speak for the Standard pack, but the Extreme Outdoor Gear EX Pack definitely gets 4 paws up for both quality and price.

2 weeks in and a strap has already broke. only complaint but then again i paid $35. typicaly good dog packs are $80+. just reinforce the straps with dental floss and u should be good. (fyi) always dental floss, never thread. super stronger, super cheap and somewhat self sealing do to the waxy coating.
