(More customer reviews)I got the 35 liter bag for a trip to Panama where I will potentially get wet from riding in small motorized craft and possible downpours. It looks like a pretty waterproof bag for that situation. It is smooth and attractive (I got the blue) and very roomy. In packing so far I have been able to fit snorkelling gear and a thick life vest and if I pack carefully, I will be able to fit basic clothes for my week and an extra pair of shoes. The best part is, I am using this as my only luggage and it fits the dimensions of a carry on. The straps feel pretty comfortable, maybe not the most padded you can buy, but seem adequate. The waist belt will make it easier to carry. I can't wait to try it out.

My wife walks our 4 dogs daily and usually takes a bottle of water and one of these with her. After letting them drink, she wrings it out and hooks it back on the water pouch. I admit that maybe the company didn't intend for them to be twisted and squeezed in this manner, but either way, it has started to leak after about a year. Obviously, we like the product though, because we have ordered another one just like it. This is definitely the best solution on the market for mobile-watering.

(More customer reviews)I may have just gotten a lemon, but my 7lb mini dachshund sat in it for 10 seconds before one of the straps broke. I sewed it and tied it and pinned it all securely and took it hiking the next day and 10 minutes into the hike and the other strap broke. Thanks goodness I had already tested it the day before so I knew to add some knots as a fail safe for the straps. It's a great concept, and after all the knots and pins it worked well. If it's worth it to you to pay the $15 to then modify it for security that's cool... just know what you're getting into.

It does wobble from one side to the other side. I would put a traveling size blanket under one side to keep it stable. So any animals doesn't have to worry about the motion sickness while wobbling. (More customer reviews)One will definitely get there money's worth with this item. I used it for my 7.8lb chihuahua mix with min pin and it was great for travel. I flew from California to New York and this back pack was extremely practical! It is more compact than most carriers, however, this is what I was looking for to travel with. I wouldn't leave my pet in the the backpack for an extended period of time. It's practical use is most effective from point A to point B. Although, if the backpack is laid down, it's more spacious allowing my dog to sleep more comfortably.

(More customer reviews)I find front carriers uncomfortable and wanted something discreet but functional, especially for hiking. I have a 6lb Chihuahua who loves this backpack and fits perfectly into it (the small size). It is comfortable, has extra pockets for keys/phone/wallet/treats, and is well made. I love that I can keep him contained by zipping closed the top or give him a "convertible" ride. The only improvement I would make would be to include a pocket to carry a water bottle for the dogs.

(More customer reviews)This is a very high quality, well made dog backpack. I travel to Costa Rica 2-3 times a year with my companion dog Lucy (MinPin). We have had a number of other bags over the years; this is the best. I got the medium to assure plenty of room for 13 hours of confinement. The construction is sound--the framework of sturdy plastic-coated steel rods holds the bag open, and is doubly reinforced at the ends so that they don't poke through the fabric. The side storage bags are roomy. Screening all around assures good ventilation in hot environments. I don't usually carry her on my back, but I would slip a piece of padding through the lower back to pad the wheels against my back. It looks like a backpack--Lucy goes into restaurants un-noticed. As far as on the plane--it fits under the seat on most Delta flights, and where the space is a little too low, it is very easy to remove the bottom support panel, which allows the sides to cave in enough to fit under the seat. (A support bar across the middle front prevents collapse.) It is very cool!
I priced this bag on other sites at twice the price that I paid for it on Amazon--it goes by "roll away", "wheel away", and similar names, but all sites use the same photograph to advertise it.

However I received no instructions with it and don't know what the purpose of two identical wide plastic strips, each with (3) metal snaps of just the 'M' end with nothing apparent to snap them too. Too bad because this handy pet carrier is perfect for older small dogs who want to go on hikes and long walks with you but need a ride back.

(More customer reviews)This carrier is well made but the measurements and weight reference is misleading. The measurents are for the outside of the carrier including the wheels and sides (that expand somewhat but not enough to make a difference)not the interior of the carrier. The top is much narrower than the bottom. My dog weighs 8 1/2#s and just fit into the carrier, her head almost touched the top of the carrier in a sitting position.. I returned it and am waiting for the larger Traveller Plus to arrive hoping that will give her head room. The carrier might be able to handle the weight of a 25# dog but a 25# surely wouldn't fit comfortably in it. To use as a backback for any hiking I will need to add more padding between the carrier and myself. The product seems to be well made.

Kyjen Outward Hound Front Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this product through Amazon from PPE Pet Supplies simply because it was the cheapest price. Amazon was selling the same product in a smaller size and/or color for almost ten dollars more. I paid $21.78 for a black size medium--including shipping. Amazon is now selling this size and color--but the product description is STILL INACCURATE.
First, you should note that the product description stays almost the same no matter what size you choose--and ALL SIZES make the claim that the product will hold up to 20 pounds. (as of this writing, anyways.) I read many reviews before deciding my best bet was to save myself both heartache and ten bucks by ordering a size medium--when more than likely I only needed a size small.
My dog is a Chihuahua and weighs in at eight pounds. I'm sure the small would have worked as she has plenty of room in the size medium, and really, the product is a little too "TALL" for her when she sits with all fours on the bottom of the product. But it works fine and was worth this non-perfection in order to save ten bucks.
So here are the ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS of this product: SIZE MEDIUM, BLACK--bottom that your dog will sit and/or lay in measures 9X11. That means it measures ELEVEN INCHES LONG (the length of your pet???) by NINE inches wide (how wide is your pet?) And it is 9.5 inches HIGH. (how tall is your pet when SITTING?????) My little girl's chin does NOT reach 9.5 inches when she is sitting, so I sort of pull down gently on the canvas and help her peek over it. More often than not she rides with her front paws hanging over the edge and cushions herself.
One last thought--the bottom of this product bends/bows with the weight of the dog. I personally couldn't imagine it carrying a 20 pound dog. If you're dog weighs more than 15 pounds--even if she/he would fit, I don't think you'd be happy toting your dog very far in this.

(More customer reviews)I will be traveling to Brazil with my diabetic 16 pound cat. I read the reviews over and over because I was afraid my cat wouldn't fit in it. The 18 inches long includes the wheels. The real lengh is 16. There is no way my 16 pound cat would fit comfortably in there. Only if she were smashed during the 15 hours trip. Since it's said here that it will carry a 22 pounds animal, I decided to buy it. I guess my husband will use it as a backpack now... and we'll have to buy another carrier for the trip.

Here's a tip; if you find the straps slipping off your shoulders, just criss-cross them in the back. The additional support it gives is fabulous and it feels completely secure.
