(More customer reviews)This is a great item for someone who has a small dog like I do. I have a 9 lb toy poodle who loves the outdoors and is very mellow when sitting in the basket riding. I don't have to worry about him trying to jump out of the basket while in motion.
The only bad thing about this basket is that it isn't as stable as I would like. If you go on a surface that isn't smooth the basket will swing from side to side a little which can startle the dog a bit until they get use to it. I don't worry about the basket falling off of the handle bars as it seems to be built well, but I wish I could fasten it more tightly to the bike. Overall, this is a great product that really comes in handy in my life.

(More customer reviews)This would be a great dog seat for a larger small dog (15-25 lbs). My dog is 12 lbs with a short stocky build and the seat was much bigger than necessary. It's huge on the back of your bike (sticks out in all directions), and kind of a hassle to mount. That being said, my neighbor's dog weighs 22 lbs and is too big for most dog bike seats - he fit perfectly in this seat and looked awfully comfortable. She bought it from me and it works great for him, although because of the effort to get it securely atached she doesn't use it often. Bottom line, it's not the most convenient, but it's a handy alternative to the smaller seats/baskets if your dog is pushing the weight limit.

(More customer reviews)I have a 20 lb puggle who uses this seat. It attached easily to my rear bike rack. In less than 10 minutes I was able to stap it on securely and set her in for a ride. She really enjoys the seat and it secures her in safely. I was surprised at how bulky the seat is though. It is definitely HEAVVILY padded and takes up quite a bit of room on your bike. Certainly not a purchase for smaller dogs! All and all this product is exactly what I expected and would reccommend. I just wish it came in another color!

(More customer reviews)My 7 pound Chi and I have always enjoyed outdoor activities together. Unfortunately, a recent medical condition prevents my Chi from long walks and hikes like we used to do because she wears out quickly. Her love of the outdoors has not changed and this Sporty Bike Basket has opened up a new way for us to continue outdoor activities while allowing my Chi the comfort and warmth she needs. It is wide and deep enough for me to put a small soft bed on the bottom on top of the cushion that it comes with, as well as a blanket to wrap around her so she stays warm. The Sporty Bike Basket stays nice and flat so she doesn't slide around and the adjustable harness strap hook allows me to hold her in tight while she sits and enjoys the view, and then let it out when she needs to lay down and rest. As long as we are on a straight path, her ride is very smooth. When we need to make turns, the basket does tilt along with the bike but as long as you aren't moving at very fast speeds or making sharp turns, the ride is still smooth and comfortable for my Chi. The only thing that could be considered a down side, is since you are putting the weight of an animal on the front of the bike, it could make it slightly unstable if your pet moves around. However, if you train your pet well and get used to the weight and movement on the front of your bike, this is a great way to explore the outdoors with your pet. In fact, when I go to put my Chi in her basket, she reaches for it with excitement as it brings life back into her spirit each and every time.

(More customer reviews)I am not real happy with the attachment assembly thus far, for use on a motorcycle tank that is. The little pads, that are suppose to go under the buckles don't really stay where they are suppose to, that's if they even end up on the tank in a position to be held down. If you're not careful you can scratch the hell out of your tank. I don't know why they didn't just coat the buckles with a non-scratch substance, and use the pads as well. It's also difficult to tighten the bag attachment assembly down, because it has an adjustment on each side. So, if you pull it really tight on one side, it just loosens on the other side. So, you have to get it where you want it, and tie a knot around the adjustable strap on one side, then you can tighten it down on the other side. It's a terrible design.
They could've just made a piece slightly curved made out of a medium, to hard rubber about 2-3 inches thick. This would lift all attachments away from the tank completely. They just need to make the attachment piece out of a stiffer material like a hard plastic, curved rubber mount underneath that, and have everything ride above the tank protecting it. The straps should only be adjustable on one side, instead of both sides. Having it adjustable on both just makes it impossible to tighten it down enough, for me to feel safe enough to have my pooch riding in it without tying a knot on one side. Then you can get it tight enough to fell safe. It's just a poor, poor design, that obviously wasn't tested out on a motorcycle very well. At least not by someone who cared about their bikes paint job. I use it, but not w/o some modifications to make it work better, and to protect my tank. My dog does love to ride in this carrier, but I'lll only use it in town. I have another carrier I use, if we are going on a longer ride made by T-bags. It's much sturdier attachment, that I would feel safe laying my bike down and still have her pretty well protected.

My dog is only 13 pounds and the front sags so much when he is in it that it hits the front tire while I'm riding bike. We tried other means of holding it up but nothing worked; nothing would prevent the bag from hitting the front tire while he was inside.

(More customer reviews)I bought this carrier primarily to use it as a bike attachment. I have a miniature dachshund who weighs 13lbs. The product description claimed that it is suitable for pets up to 15lbs. Based on the cheap construction of the plastic bike attachment, the weight limit should be half that! When I attached it to the front of my bike and put my dog inside, the bag hung down just barely above the tire. I repeatedly tried to adjust the attachment but it could not support the weight of my dog and stay upright.
If you have a small dog (less than 10 lbs), this would probably be a suitable bike carrier. If your dog is any bigger, don't bother! The construction of the attachment seems very cheap. I doubt the plastic would hold up to much use. I returned it the day it arrived in the mail and I will continue searching for a better carrier.
